Rickie Fowler- 2012 Wells Fargo Championship Winner
Rickie Fowler, SCPGA Junior Tour alum, captured his first PGA Tour win this past weekend at the Wells Fargo Championship at the Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte, North Carolina. Coming into the final round, Fowler was in sixth place and three strokes off the lead at 11 under par. Rickie fired a final round 69 (3 under par) to get into a playoff with Rory McIlroy and D.A. Points. Fowler birdied the first hole of the playoff to capture the victory.
Fowler has a knack of making big putts, like he did at the age of 15 at the California State Junior Amateur at PGA of Southern California Golf Club- the Legends course on August 1-3 2005. Rickie fired 65+65+65=195 (21 under par). It was only a matter of time till Rickie won on the PGA Tour.

Saturday, March 3rd and Sunday, March 4th, the SCPGA Toyota Tour Cup was in Lompoc for a beautiful weekend of competition at La Purisima Golf Course. As always at this location, the course proved to be the toughest opponent for players. Thank you to all participants, parents, and spectators for putting in the hard work and effort that made this event successful.

Congratulations to Robynn Ree, a 2015 graduate representing Redondo Beach, for her first place finish with a two day combined score of 155 (11 over par). Robynn’s top finish can be attributed to her consistent play (77-78), unaffected by difficult course conditions. Finishing in second place with a combined score of 158 (78-80) was Luciane Lee, a 2012 graduate representing Torrance. Luciane began the second round in 3rd place but battled hard to finish one spot higher on the leader-board. Jocelyn Chia, a 2014 graduate representing La Crescenta, finished in 3rd place with a combined total of 159 (80-79).
